Guide Training Programs
Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) organized a comprehensive three-phase Nature Guide Training Program for guides working in both the core and buffer zones. The initiative aimed to :
- Deepen understanding of Tadoba’s biodiversity
- Improve communication and hospitality skills
- Encourage responsible guiding through a defined code of conduct
- Promote awareness of wildlife management practices
Program Reach :
- 119 guides from the core area (Phase 1 & 2)
- 240 guides from the buffer area (Phase 2 & 3)
- Total of 359 guides trained
- Phase 3 conducted at Chandrapur Forest Academy ,in association with Pratham Education Foundation
Training Highlights :
- Modules onEnglish speaking, soft skills, hospitality, CPR, waste management, from the wildlife management
- Field visits to identify mammals, birds, butterflies, reptiles, and plants
- Special sessions on animal behavior, species ID, and habitat management

A one-day field trip to the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Botanical Garden was also conducted, enriching the learning experience. After completing the course, participants underwent an evaluation focused on English and Tadoba-specific knowledge.
Each guide received a study kit, including :
- Enchanting Tadoba book
- Tadoba Passport, diary, feedback book, and writing materials
- Certificate of Completion
This initiative has significantly enhanced the guides’ ability to engage meaningfully with tourists and contribute responsibly to conservation.
